ABSTRACT:

Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal commonly known as Ashwagandha, is recognized today, as potentially one of the most valuable plant because of its widely used medicinal value, a major source of alkaloids and withanolides. An elaborate study on the factors influencing in vitro seed germination into different concentrations of MS (Murashige and Skoog's) medium. Seeds elicited the best response in the medium MS full and half concentration without any growth hormones. In corporation of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), KN, and Auxins like Naphalene acetic acid (NAA) + Indole 3 acetic acid (IAA) failed to germinate the seeds.
