ABSTRACT:

Many higher education institutions have been pursuing agendas for global education aggressively for number of years. The international academic community and especially the business programs have been ahead of the curve. Higher education leaders today recognize the need to develop an international strategy for their institutions but may lack the knowledge and perspective required to inform good decisions. Institutions must create educational healthy environment to develop qualitative education skills in students. International outreach and initiatives enrich institutional culture but must be based on good information and analysis. American Council Education (ACE) and the Boston college Center for International Higher Education (CIHE) launched a publication and webinar series titled International Briefs for Higher Education Leaders. The purpose of the series is to assist campus leaders in their efforts to make sense of a broad and complex set of issues inherent in the internationalization of American higher education today. In fact , it is largely the business sector and the business leaders that have really understood the relevance of international partnership and strategy alliances as a strategy to sustain economic and human development. Traditionally India has been known as “Gyan Ka Kendra” or the knowledge centre. It earned this tag because the tradition of education and training back to the time when the Hindu scriptures were written, and subsequently to the days of Nalanda and Taksashila, where we had the one most celebrated teachers known for his political, economic astuteness and understanding of the warfare, namely Chanakya. Today his work is widely referred to in matters of state, economy and governance, much the same wat as Machiavelli.
